Holy Cross Energy Power+FLEX Program
Battery energy storage systems are an effective way to be able to keep your home powered during an outage—and Power+FLEX will help offset some of the cost of your system.

The Holy Cross Energy Power+FLEX program provides financial incentives to members who install battery storage systems. When coupled with the Federal tax credits, the incentives cover most of the cost adding a battery system to your solar array.
The program enables home and business owners who want to stay powered through an outage, an effective way to pay for their backup power. By sharing the energy in their battery systems with Holy Cross Energy – and by extension the community, members can promote renewable energy adoption and save everyone money!
How to Participate
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a member of Holy Cross Energy
- System must be installed and interconnected to Holy Cross’s system
- Must be in good standing (i.e., no delinquent payments within the past 12 months)
- Cannot already be enrolled in similar programs, such as Power+
- Cannot be enrolled in Peak Time Payback
- Cannot be on our optional Time of Use rate
All Fortress Power batteries are eligible and must be paired with a Fortress Power inverter and the Guardian Gateway to communicate with Holy Cross Energy. Select an approved Fortress Power installer.
Fill out a Power+FLEX Application. You will need your HCE Account Number, Fortress Power Equipment serial numbers, and a photo of the installed system. You are in control of the percentage of the energy capacity that you will allow HCE to periodically control.
Once all eligibility requirements have been verified, Holy Cross Energy will issue the upfront incentive. You should receive an application response from Holy Cross within 10 business days.
Once approved, you’ll receive monthly “Distribution Flexibility” bill credits based on your system’s performance. Any energy exported will also receive net metering credits.
Combine that with the corresponding Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) to maximize your savings!
Program Benefits
Upfront incentives reduce the cost to you after installation. System owners can receive up to $12,500 – based on $500 per kW of Enrolled Battery Capacity. Holy Cross Energy allows participants to commit 100%, 75%, or 50% of their eligible capacity.
For example, select an eForce 19.2 and Envy 12kW inverter to collect an $3,850 upfront incentive. Committing 75% or 50% of the eligible capacity would yield incentives of $2,887.50 or $1,925 respectively.

Collect a monthly bill credit based on performance and the Enrolled Battery Capacity. Holy Cross provides a monthly credit of $10.30 per kW of Enrolled Battery Capacity for five years!
For example, select an eForce 19.2 and Envy 12kW inverter to collect a maximum credit of $79.31 per month. Committing 75% or 50% of the eligible capacity would result in maximum monthly credits of $59.48 or $39.66 respectively.

You may also qualify for a Federal Tax Investment Credit (ITC). Consult with a tax advisor on eligibility requirements.
Unlike generators that run on fossil fuels, batteries are a cleaner, quieter option for powering your home during an outage.
How the Program Works Once Your System is Installed
Potential Customer Incentives
Below are some examples of what a Holy Cross Energy customer could potentially earn by participating in the program. Fortress Power recommends maintaining a 20% state of charge reserve. Each example uses an eForce 28.8kWh battery with an Envy True 12kW Inverter. The enrollment capacity for this system is 11.5kW.

- Have an installed Energy Storage System, after completing the Generation Interconnect Application and signing a Generator Interconnect Agreement, as specified below:
