Battery Storage Rewards Program | PSEG Long Island
Leverage rebates and incentives to reduce your cost to acquire backup power.
A solution for a brighter future!

Enroll in the PSEG Long Island Battery Storage Rewards Program, powered by EnergyBroker – a network of battery storage systems that work together to alleviate strain on the electricity grid during peak demand times.
As a participant in the Battery Storage Rewards Program, you agree to provide power from your battery system to your home or the grid during designated “event” periods, typically a few times each year. By participating in these events, you will receive compensation directly through the EnergyBroker program, which will pay you directly for the energy you contribute. This opportunity is available to both residential and commercial customers who install a battery storage system, whether used independently or in conjunction with a solar PV system.

How to Participate
Find a local participating installation contractor to install your Fortress Power system.
All Fortress Power residential batteries are eligible for the program, and must be paired with a Fortress Power inverter and the Guardian Gateway to remit information back to PSEG and EnergyBroker.
Either you or your installer can enroll via the Fortress Power website.
Once your system is operational and all eligibility requirements have been verified, EnergyBroker will monitor your performance. The payment you receive is determined by EnergyBroker and may depend on how well your battery system performed during each event. Combine that with the corresponding Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) to maximize your savings!
Program Benefits
The payment you receive is determined by EnergyBroker and may depend on how well your battery system performed during each event.
You may also qualify for a Federal Tax Investment Credit (ITC). Consult with a tax advisor on eligibility requirements.
Your batteries automatically supply stored energy into the energy grid, while your solar panels continue to power your home. You shouldn’t notice any difference in your home’s power supply.
Unlike generators that run on fossil fuels, batteries are a cleaner, quieter option for powering your home during an outage.
How the Program Works Once Your System is Installed
System Monitoring
The battery storage system needs to be installed in a location with an internet service so PSEG and EnergyBroker can monitor your system. The Guardian Gateway is required to program communications. You can see the same information using our mobile app.
Battery Dispatch
During the Battery Storage Rewards Program period, if PSEG Long Island forecasts that the following day’s power needs will be near the grid’s peak capacity, they may schedule an “event” to make use of the clean, renewable power produced by solar PV customers.
Incentives
The payment you receive is determined by EnergyBroker and may depend on how well your battery system performed during each event. The added benefit is that you will be helping the environment by supplying clean, renewable energy and reducing the use of fossil fuels.
How much power do I need to provide?
Your solar contractor can discuss the requirements with you and enroll you in the program. The amount of power you will be able to supply will depend on the size of your PV system and batteries.
