We pay $1.00/ kWh discharged. That’s almost 5x what you pay Luma.
Unless you change the settings, we only discharge 2 kWh per hour. Keeping most of your battery for backup.
You get paid $400 per year for your contributions assuming an expect 100 events, 2 hours events.
HOW IT WORKS
- When the grid is stressed, Luma asks us to sell them energy.
- Fortress Power dispatches energy from batteries in the program
- Energy from battery is used by the home’s load
- In some cases, energy can be exported to the grid and receives Net Metering credits for this export.
- Fortress verifies the battery discharge and sends you a check ever 3 months.
- Luma pays Fortress for helping stabilize the Puerto Rican grid.

ELEGIBILITY
Home and business owners are eligible for EnergyBroker in Puerto Rico if they:
- Are or will be in LUMA’s Net Energy Metering program.
- Are not simultaneously enrolled with another Aggregator.
- Own the following hardware:
Fortress Power Envy or Avalon Inverters
eFlex 5.4, eVault Max, or Avalon Batteries
Guardian*
