Leverage rebates and incentives to reduce your cost to acquire backup power.

Take the first step toward a more sustainable energy future!

ConnectedSolutions is a grid services program in New England that enables customers to contribute to a greener, more resilient power grid by sharing stored energy and helping utilities offset peak demand. During the hot summer months, ensuring a safe, reliable supply of electricity to the community is essential. Battery storage systems can help—while also offering backup power to your home in the event of power outages. When you enroll a qualifying battery system in ConnectedSolutions, homeowners can earn incentives each year by allowing your power supplier to discharge your battery during periods of peak demand. It’s a great way to earn incentives, while helping reduce pollution and keep electricity costs down.

How to Participate

Find an Installer

Select a Fortress Power approved installer to install your system. Customers are eligible to apply for a HEAT Loan for the equipment and labor costs associated with installing a battery storage system.

Install Your System

Certain Fortress Power systems are eligible for the program and must be paired with the Guardian Monitor to remit information back to the power supplier.

Enroll in the Program

After the installation is complete, enroll in the ConnectedSolutions program and choose your equipment incentive terms. Your installer will work with you on enrolling, or you can enroll using the Fortress Power EnergyBroker program application.

Get Paid!

Once your system is operational and all eligibility requirements have been verified, your utility company will issue a direct payment at the end of the year depending on how much energy was shared during the year. Combine that with the corresponding Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) to maximize your savings!

Program Benefits

Earn Performance Incentives

Performance incentives are paid twice a year for 10 years based on how your battery performs during peak summer and winter days.

Locked in Incentive Rates

The incentive rate is locked in place for the first five summers the customer is enrolled in ConnectedSolutions with all new systems.

Take Advantage of the Federal Tax Investment Credit (ITC)

You may also qualify for a Federal Tax Investment Credit (ITC). Consult with a tax advisor on eligibility requirements.

Contribute to a Cleaner Future

Unlike generators that run on fossil fuels, batteries are a cleaner, quieter option for powering your home during an outage. Keep powering your home on your own terms while helping to reduce air pollution and keep energy costs down.

How the Program Works Once Your System is Installed

System Monitoring

The battery storage system needs to be installed in a location with an internet service so ConnectedSolutions and your utility supplier can monitor your system. Use our Guardian Monitor & mobile app.

Battery Dispatch

After your eligible contractor installs your battery, energy-sharing events through the ConnectedSolutions program call on your battery system to automatically discharge during peak demand days.

Event Parameters

ConnectedSolutions has the following event parameters:

– From June 1 to September 30

– Between 3pm and 8pm

– No more than 60 times each summer

– A maximum of 3 hours per event

– Customers can opt out at any time

Incentives

Participating customers receive performance-based incentives are paid at the end of the year based on average energy contributions to the grid. The average is $275 per kW.
